Getting the Team Together for the First Time - 1/21/2026
For the first time, on 1/15/26, our paranormal team finally got together for some good ole pizza at our local pizza place. Only the team members living in this area were able to join.
Our two out of state members from Louisiana and Minnesota were unable to join.
While no pictures were taken, we had a pretty good discussion together. One member is one of my friends, and the three others were from my workplace. This was the first time they all met together as well.
We decided on a couple of starter places to get used to our equipment. The first investigation is planned to take place at our oldest member's house as she reports that she sees a shadow figure run between
her bedroom and kitchen. The second place will be at a local cemetery, to which a family member of mine oversees. I have permission from them to stay overnight at the cemetery. Plus, I have several family members
buried there too.
I am very excited to get started with this! The first investigations will be attended only by our local members, but once we get comfortable as a team, we plan to investigate notoriously-haunted places in our home state.
Introducing the Equipment to a Team Member - 12/23/2025
For the past couple of days, I have been down south, away from my Midwest life, for the holidays. One of our paranormal group members lives in the south, and she has never
seen our investigation equipment before. I was finally able to demonstrate its uses to her; she was knowledgeable with the spirit box. She taught me the Estes Method, which is done by doing the following:
Have a pair of good headphones to tune out other noises. Make sure you have something to cover your eyes with, such as a blindfold. Another person can ask questions with the other person
in the Estes Method to communicate with the ghost during the investigation. If the ghosts' responses are getting too dark and aggressive, TAKE THE PERSON OUT OF THE ESTES METHOD IMMEDIATELY! A tap on the arm will do.
Attached are a couple of photos taken during the demonstration. Enjoy, and she says hello!
I was able to show her the following pieces of equipment: The nightvision camera, FLIR Thermal camera, Kinect360 SLS camera, spirit box, and digital camera!
Beginning my Adventures into the Paranormal - 12/23/2025
I became interested in paranormal investigations sometime around 2015. My sister had discovered the show called Ghost
Adventures, and we were hooked. They even had done some locations early on in our homestate, with some taken place in the towns
close to us! We would watch their show on Netflix.
Another driver for my interest was that our previous house was said to be haunted. We have some physical evidence of a haunt, one of
which is a photo taken of our new stairs that were just built by my dad. My other sister stands on the stairs right after they were completed, and my mother takes
the photo. There is a ghostly face next to my sister, looking at the camera. After showing neighbors, they agreed that the face looked like the previous owner,
who had apparently died a few months prior in assisted living.
There were other instances too, such as things moving around, doors closing on their own (not done by our cats), ceiling fans moving on their own in the previous owner's wife's office, and other spooky things.
In April of 2022, I had went with a couple of acquaintances Katie and Taylor to the Indiana State Sanatorium for a large group overnight "investigation." I can't say we gathered much evidence, but it was still fun until about 4am. We all just got extremely drowsy at that point and were ready to go home. I haven't spoken to those two since since we parted ways, and the two girls don't even talk to each other anymore either.
Flash forward to today, I now have the necessary equipment said to capture evidence of the beyond, and I now have a group with similar interests for answers. We plan to investigate an old asylum in March as our first investigation together. I am excited for this. I feel more prepared than I was in 2022, as I know more what to expect, reached out to a local expert in the field, and I have others with me who are more close to me. I've considered reaching out to Katie to see if she'd like to join our group, but I haven't done so yet.
